Back from my holidays and feeling nice and relaxed! I have to say it was nice taking a total break that didn’t involve getting on a plane – just getting in my car and driving an hour or two.
I had a close friend visiting from the US so we did a bit of sightseeing including a beautiful trip up to the blue mountains! I stayed in Blackheath – in a lovely little cabin – it was so peaceful…
Of course plenty of bushwalking – which I love – sometimes I forget just how good it is to get out and see a bit of nature. I’m thinking of getting a few friends together and organising semi-regular hikes in different areas…
The weather the first couple of days was perfect sunny winter – warm in the sun but crisp and beautiful… though one day I woke up to rain so decided to go underground instead 🙂 The drive down the the Jenolan caves is v narrow and twisty – but even more nerve wracking in a thick blanket of fog! Makes me happy to have my car which feels very safe…
I’ve been before and always find the beautiful formations incredible… but this time did something a little different where instead of walking on nice paths with electric light illuminating the caves I was dressed in a boiler suit, with a helmet and a headlamp crawling through teeny tiny spaces. There were a few moments I was sure I wasn’t going to fit!
